And Sit by me
I know your sad
And want to be free

From all the memories
Locked up inside
Shed those tears
So long were denied.

You were only two
No place to call home
A mother so needy
On the streets she would roam.

She couldn’t keep you
You were taken away
Words were not spoken
Nothing she could say

Would take away the pain
You felt on that day
Needing her so
Wishing she would stay

The people that kept you
Were mean and so bad
I understand
Why your unhappy and sad

A child needs
a mother to care
A child needs
love not despair

So here we sit
Just you and me
Opening the wounds
With eyes that can see

I never will forsake you
As we sit side by side
Our truth will be told
God is our guild
